What is Transfiguration?

Transfiguration is a legendary kinetic scout-rifle. It deals kinetic damage and shoots primary (white) ammo. Although it's a part of the Last Wish raid's experience (season 4), it was added to the game much, much later – in Season 21 (aka season of the deep) during the Lightfall content cycle.

What makes it so strong?

It's a strong legendary that has some decent stats. Say, range (74) is outstanding for a scout rifle. Impact (67) is also great. And not just them – other stats are also good. But stats are not everything – perks are. The archetypal perk of Transfiguration is High-Impact Frame and it defines high damage and slow shooting of the gun. The other of the 2 intrinsic perks is Explosive Pact. It increases stability and reload speed for your weapon when you activate any grenade abilities.

Now to the best part of it: the real perks. Here's a curated roll: Fluted Barrel (handling +15, stability +5), Light Mag (reload speed +10, range +5), Rapid Hit (rapid precision hits increase stability & reload speed), and Kinetic Tremors (spawn 3 shockwaves upon a target that has taken 3+ kinetic shots from you). It's a great set of perks!

But you shouldn't think that you either get this roll or go home. There's also the Rampage, perk for example. It can substitute Rapid Hit and it's a solid alternative. Each kill you do with Transfiguration increases your damage and the bonus stacks 3 times. So you can get 3 bonuses to your damage: 10%, 21%, and 33% increase. It lasts 4.5 seconds – you didn't expect it would last forever, did you? Nah, such great bonuses never do! That's why they are going great after all!

What are the ways to obtain it?

There's only one way and it lies through the Last Wish raid's encounters. You can get this weapon after beating any of the bosses. The chance for that is small, of course, since no one would just give away such a wonderful scout rifle. But fear not!
