What is Age-Old Bond in Destiny 2?

Age-Old Bond is a legendary (purple) energy auto rifle. It shoots primary ammo to inflict damage of the Void type. Although it's part of the Last Wish raid experience (and loot table), it was added long after the raid itself – in Season 21 also known as Season of the Deep. It's part of the Lightfall expansion content.

What makes this weapon special?

Not every auto rifle is made equal and Age-Old Bond is a great example of that. It's a very interesting weapon with great perks and powerful stats. But then again, would a wack gun be added to an old raid to raise players' interest to it? That would make no sense! So make no mistake: this is a wonderful option for anyone who loves shooting fast and a lot.

The curated roll includes these 4 perks: Extended Barrel, Light Mag, Fourth Time's the Charm, and Focused Fury. The Extended Barrel is about improving your gun's range: +10 to that and +10 to recoil – yet there's a decrease in handling (-10). Light Mag enhances your reload speed (+10) and adds even more range (+5). Fourth Time's the Charm returns 2 bullets to the mag whenever you successfully pull 4 precision hits. If you've got a good aim, you'll have to reload much less often with it. And finally, Focused Fury:  if you make precision hits with half of the bullets in your mag, you'll get a 20% damage increase for as much as 11 seconds! That's another incentive to shoot right on target when you wield Age-Old Bond. Since it's an auto-rifle it might not be the easiest thing to do (it's not a sniper rifle after all) but it's quite doable, so don't worry about that – it just takes some practice.

There are 2 more perks that are universal among rolls: the intrinsic legendary "High-impact frame" and the basic origin trait "Explosive pact". The former defines the type of the weapon: you shoot slow but deal lots of damage and you better not move when you shoot since it becomes more accurate like that. Nothing new but still. The latter, Explosive pact, gives you additional stability and reload speed whenever you do something with grenades. Throw them, deal a fatal blow with them, heal your teammates – anything goes.

There are more perks you can get with random rolls and some of them are pretty awesome so don't be desperate to get the curated roll. For example, Arrowhead Brake (instead of Extended Barrel) is quite a welcome option too: it gets you +21 recoil and +10 handling.  So no range improvement but a great bonus in recoil instead of that!

How do you obtain Age-Old Bond in Destiny 2?

Go grind the Last Wish raid. Alone or with PUGs, or – the best option – with our pros. You can get this weapon after completing any encounter of the raid – but will you actually ever get it? Our pros can make sure that you'll get it with particular perks. And we don't need cheats for that or anything of the kind – we have enough skill and patience to do it if you request it. Running the raid again and again is what we'll do and we'll make sure to do it well!
