What is Apex Predator in Destiny 2?

Apex Predator is an outstanding legendary power rocket-launcher. That's quite a mouthful, we know, but that's what it is in all its glory! It deals tons of Solar damage and uses heavy (purple) ammo. You will love it if you still don't! And yes, it first appeared in Season 4 together with the Last Wish raid. It still remains an item in its loot table. And actually, it's been around since the Forsaken expansion's days so if you really love and still haven't unlocked it... Well, it's high time you did! It's been several years already! What is so great about this weapon?

Apex Predator has many merits. It has stats that are a pleasure to look at. But better still, it has a couple of really, really powerful perk combos that would make even a tough grown man smile like a joyful kid. Let's start with its curated roll. It includes Quick Launch, High-Velocity Rounds, Snapshot Sights, and Cluster Bomb. Now let's learn what they all do. Quick Launch greatly improves your handling (+15) and velocity (+10).  High-Velocity Rounds expectedly raise your Velocity stat (+10) – it also improves your reload speed (+10 to that too). Snapshot Sights makes your down-sight aiming quicker.  And Cluster Bomb gives you a passive ability to spawn as many as 8 cluster bombs upon detonation of your rockets. Yeah, all those perks a happy few for sure and they will make you forget your troubles for a while. But to be quite honest, this curated roll – just like most others – is not the best roll you can get with the Predator.

Before naming a couple of other combos that can bring you even greater joy, we should note that there's also an intrinsic legendary trait "Adaptive Frame" that reads as follows: "A well-rounded grip, reliable, and sturdy". Make of that what you will, dear guardian!
