How to level up?
Weapon leveling is quite similar to account leveling: you simply need to collect a particular amount of experience to reach a higher level. Unlike accounts, however, you can't reset weapon levels – and even if you could, it wouldn't make sense to do it, since there's no weapon-related prestige system.- Kills: sure, it's an obvious one, but no list of experience sources would be full without it. Multikills are even more desirable as they give you exponentially more experience than regular kills. But it wouldn't be smart to go for multikills no matter what over being a good team player. So while it's a good thing to bear in mind that every multikill you pull is an XP bomb, being over-focused on them won't do you good.
- Tactical equipment: you would be surprised to learn how often people are clueless about this source of EXP. Your tactical equipment can earn you kill assists in no way less effectively than lethal gear and weapons. Throw smoke- and stun grenades as well as all other kinds of gizmos whenever you can to secure your share of experience from each elimination.
- Mastery badges: all weapons in COD BO6, similarly to most other recent entries to the franchise, have unique challenges. Completing them gives you the so-called mastery badges. And their value is not just expanding your collection of cool things and impressive achievements – it's also experience. And a handsome amount of it, too.
- Daily challenges: doing them daily might start feeling like a chore at some point. But make no mistake: they are a great source of experience both for your account and arsenal. If you get bored with them, try doing at least one such challenge per day. But if you think you can handle all of them, you'll be rewarded for your diligence as completing all 3 dailies gives you a very pleasant XP bonus.
- Zombies: did you know that you don't even have to play multiplayer to raise your weapon's level? That's right, you can stick to co-op in Zombies if that's your idea of fun. Hostiles in this game mode are never scarce, so you can enjoy shooting in all directions all you want. Grinding zombies is less intense than competing against other players – and it can be quite fun if you have a good team of friends to join you!

How to speed up leveling?
There are several tricks that will make your leveling more bearable. In fact, you can achieve high level for most of your weapons quite fast if you stick to them.- Play objective game modes: if a game mode includes lots of different objectives, you should expect to be rewarded with extra experience for completing as many of them as possible. And that's a win-win situation: completing objectives brings you and your team closer to the victory. So while people focused on kills can become obnoxious and outright disruptive for your team's effort, people focused on objectives will likely do more good than harm. And they will earn more XP than those that aren't, too. Game modes like that include Domination, Hardpoint, and Headqarters.
- Stick to small maps & fast-paced modes with respawn: small maps bring you closer to your enemies which means that blood will be spilt all the time. Respawn means that you'll have a chance to make more kills than in game modes without it. Together these 2 things give you a recipe for massive EXP gains. Examples of small maps include Babylon, Derelict, Gala Pit, Moshpit, Nuketown, Payback 2, Rewind, Scud, Subsonic, Vault, and Warhead.
- Don't miss double XP opportunities: there are 2 ways to get twice as much experience. One of them is using a double experience token which you can get as a promo item, a part of a cash shop bundle, or buy from us (the most straightforward method). The other is playing during a double XP event which can happen whenever the developers decide. So it's a good idea to follow them on social media to not miss an announcement of that. Just remember to have those 2 methods "shaken, not stirred" as they don't stack: using a double XP token during a double XP weekend, for example, won't give you 4 times as much experience. It will just waste a token, so be careful with that.
- Try Hardcore: while the Hardcore playlist has a name that would scare off many players, it's actually a way better thing than you might think. And it's especially so for weapon leveling. Think of it this way: it's true that you have less HP than in the Normal mode, but so do your enemies. That means that it's easier to eliminate them with less powerful weapons. Hence, going through your weapon's low levels is way more convenient at Hardcore, despite it being counterintuitive. The reason for that is lack of powerful attachments that are an absolute must in the Normal mode where you have to deal with much "thicker" opponents.
- Consider using certain perks: things would be much easier if we just had a perk to boost XP gains. Alas, that's not a thing right now. Instead, there are perks that can make it easier to level weapons in some indirect way. For example, the Overkill perk lets you add 2 primary weapons to your loadout thus giving you an opportunity to earn experience for both. Another option is Fast Hands which speeds up weapon switching. That means that you can use all the things you've added to your loadout more efficiently and thus get more kills and assists (great sources of XP!).
- Focus on 1 weapon at a time: while it's cool to level up more than 1 weapon (remember the Overkill perk we've mentioned?), it will always be better to focus on just 1. Spend as much time as you have to bring it closer to the max level and you'll get access to its best perks sooner than you might think.
- Play the Kill Order mode: in this game mode you either protect a high-value target or try to eliminate one. A match of Kill Order often looks like a bloodbath which offers a great opportunity for earning tons of XP for your weapon.
- Don't miss time-limited events: to make such events more attractive to players, the devs often add XP incentives among all kinds of goodies & bonuses. Study carefully what each such event brings to easily discover opportunities for faster and easier weapon leveling.
- Use your favorite attachments: while it's never bad to stick to the current meta's guidelines, what matters most is your confidence. If you feel more confident with attachments considered not a part of this season's meta, don't worry. If it helps you perform better and win, stick to them regardless of what others might say.
