The Best Handling Cars in Forza Horizon 5 | Top-5 List

When you're just starting out in Forza, you're after the fastest cars. But after a couple of lost races where your car let you down at a sharp turn, you start wondering what the best-handling cars in Forza Horizon 5 are...

That's a great question, because your perfect car is never just fast – it's also controllable. You can't win by just accelerating – even in a drag race. Your car has to remain stable and predictable, it should move exactly how you want it. That leads you to look for the best-handling cars – and this blog post is the place to find all the answers. Let's roll!

🕹 What Makes a Car's Handling Good in FH5?

First, what's handling? In Forza 5, it mainly refers to how well a car responds to your input. Since most vehicles are essentially several tons of metal, it's natural that they can't turn around or change direction instantly when going at high speed. But circuits are deliberately designed to put their handling to the test: will your car manage a sharp turn? And what about a series of curves? To successfully handle these challenges, you need, well, better handling.

Conveniently, each vehicle in Forza Horizon 5 has the Handling stat – it shows how well it corners, maintains grip through high-speed turns, and stays planted under pressure. The closer this stat is to 10, the better your car does it all.

So is that it? Handling = handling, let's wrap up the article? Not yet! Although this stat gives you a good idea of the car's capabilities, it doesn't tell the whole story. Another important stat is Braking. It shows how well the car can rapidly slow down, which is important when approaching a particularly sharp corner.

Finally, one more trait worth considering is the vehicle's body length and weight. Shorter cars tend to have a shorter wheelbase, which means that it's easier for them to change direction. Heavy cars have more inertia and are generally less responsive. Some cars are engineering marvels, however, and despite having considerable length and weight, handle quite well – but those are exceptions.

So in our ranking we'll consider those three factors and add community feedback to them: some cars are particularly praised for their handling despite, say, having a longer body than some others. The game seems to have a huge list of hidden factors that we only can guess about – and they all affect vehicles' performance in some way. So sometimes you just have to accept that something drives better for, well, reasons.

🏎 Top-5 Best Handling Cars in Forza Horizon 5

First, a heads-up: this top-list doesn't include best-handling cars for drag racing. It's a whole different thing there as it mainly concerns a vehicle's launch behavior – accelerating from a standstill without veering, that is. But we're talking cars that are good at cornering and dealing with sharp turns, so bear that in mind.

That said, let's take a look at the magnificent five – the best handling cars in FH5 overall:

#5. Aston Martin Vulcan AMR Pro 🇬🇧

This Aston gives away its outstanding handling right away through its stats – but that doesn't mean you can't tune it further to make it even tamer. Sometimes it may feel a bit clumsy because of its slightly above-average length, but it's still surprisingly stable for a rear-wheel drive car with a front-placed engine.

It's actually the only front-engine car on our list, and its weight distribution is front-biased, which affects its behavior and might take some time to get used to.

Where the Vulcan doesn't excel is speed, unfortunately. All the speed-related stats are below 8, despite the car having a massive 7-litre engine. But it's still a very solid choice for curvy tracks, since raw speed isn't the deciding factor there.

#4. Brabham BT62 🇦🇺

The stock Brabham comes with two very solid reasons to add it to this list: Handling is 10 and Braking is 10. And it shows: the car's cornering and grip are nothing short of stellar. It might be the smoothest-driving RWD vehicle in the game, as it feels even more controllable than the Vulcan.

The car is mid-engine and very lightweight: just 2,349 pounds. It would surely be higher in our ranking if it didn't feel slightly underpowered. Its Speed is as low as 7.3. The Acceleration is better but still nothing special – 8.2. And Launch is the only stat that mitigates it – 8.9.

The BT62 isn't a slow car (it's more capable than the Vulcan, for example) and with the right modifications, it can catch up with our top-3 cars. But it's still worth noting that its engine is just not impressive for its class.

#3. Rimac Nevera 🇭🇷

This is the only EV on our list – and that means it's the best-handling electric hypercar in Forza Horizon 5. You wouldn't get that impression when looking at its stats: just 7 for Handling? 8.6 for Braking? And you're placing this above Koenigseggs? Who are you trying to fool? But hear us out!

First of all, its stats are weirdly misleading, as the car drives pretty smoothly in its stock version – as most sports EVs do. Secondly, its tuning capabilities are pretty impressive, and you can make up for most of the stock Nevera's handling shortcomings. Thirdly, it's a mid-engine all-wheel-drive, which helps it respond well to your input even with the base stats – especially compared with most RWDs.

What truly holds it back and can't be really fixed, is its weight: 4,740 pounds is no joke. Despite that, it's the car with the highest Speed stat on our list (9), the perfect Launch (10), and an elite-level Acceleration (9.2). It's a very powerful vehicle with unexpectedly good cornering manners.

#2. Porsche 918 Spyder 🇩🇪

The Spyder is a very balanced high-end racing car that handles hairpins easily. Its base Handling stat might not be as close to 10 as you'd expect ("merely" 8.9), and the same goes for its Braking (9.3) – but you'll never complain about it being clumsy on the track. Of course, nothing is perfect, and you should add some mods to it for a truly sensational handling performance, which it's totally capable of.

Speaking of the balance, the 918's Speed stat might seem a bit low for a supercar (8.8), but its Acceleration and Launch (both 10) leave not a trace of doubt – this is a lightning bolt of a vehicle.

It's the only entry on our list with a 7-speed transmission – and you feel the difference when you're rapidly speeding up on a straight. But when a turn approaches, the Spyder doesn't lose its finesse, as it brakes and corners very confidently – even in its base form.

#1. Lamborghini Sesto Elemento FE 🇮🇹

If you're an experienced Forza player, you saw it coming. We chose the FE version (Forza Edition) for our list, but the regular one is also great: both have perfect stats for Handling and Braking (as well as Acceleration and Launch). What gives the FE the edge is Speed: 8.4 against the standard edition's 7.8.

Interestingly, this is the oldest vehicle on our list – released in 2011. And yet they haven't made anything better ever since! It's AWD, as you'd expect, with a mid-engine layout. It also has a very lightweight body (just 2,202 pounds) – yet a seemingly average engine (5.2-liter V10). But oh my, does this engine deliver!

Okay, so with the stats and specs out of the way, we now should start praising how smoothly this legend of a car drives, how insanely fast it changes direction, how stable it feels even through the longest curves... We can go on and on – and it never feels like too much, because this vehicle deserves every word of admiration it receives. It's not just the best-handling car – it might be the best one overall in the game. But that would be too provocative to say, so we won't insist!

* * *

So those were our top 5 picks for the best-handling cars in Forza Horizon 5. That doesn't mean others aren't good: some come very close to the ones we've chosen. To name a few: Koenigsegg CCGT, Apollo Intensa Emozione, Ferrari 599XX Evolution, and at least a dozen more – it's never a bad idea to explore them too.

But our job here was to introduce you to the best ones – and now you know them. Besides, you've also learned what makes a vehicle excel at handling, which means you can assess any car on your own from now on.
