What is The Wizened Rebuke in Destiny 2?

The Wizened Rebuke is a legendary energy fusion rifle that is a great PvP pick for any guardian. It uses Special (green) ammo and inflicts Arc damage. It first appeared in the game during Season 17 (of the Haunted) which was a part of the Witch Queen expansion experience (year 5). 

What is so good about it?

Legendary weapons are what their perks make them! Most modern Iron Banner weapons of high quality have the original "Skulking Wolf" trait on them that appears on every roll and gives you an interesting bonus. The bonus lets you "jam" your enemy team's radars and makes them lose your trace. You can achieve that by delivering a final blow to one of your opponents while being low on health yourself. Naturally, it's a very PvP-ish thing and you will hardly find any use for it outside that but it's a great bonus for Iron Banner, Crucible, and whatnot.

As for other traits, let's see what the curated roll for this gun is:

• Arrowhead Brake (+28 Recoil, +10 Handling)
• Accelerated Coils (-40ms Charge time, but -5 Impact)
• Heating Up (-15% accuracy cone growth, +15 Stability, +20 Recoil direction – all that per stack upon delivering a final blow; max 2 stacks)
• Successful Warm-up (-37.5% charge / draw time upon delivering a final blow)

As it's always the case, the curated roll is alright but not perfect. Among the perks it has, only the Successful Warm-up can be deemed a god-roll option. It goes well with Subsistence which automatically refills 10% of your mag upon downing an opponent. Don't expect the refilling bullets to come out of thin air, however, as it's your reserves that are being used for it.

Another solid pair of perks are Steady Hands and Backup Plan. The former is something crazy as it grants 100 Handling for 8 seconds to all your weapons upon delivering a killing blow with the Wizened Rebuke. It's a very versatile trait and no wonder it's a part of one of the community's god rolls. The other of the two, the Backup Plan, adds up on handling by giving you extra handling speed as well as reducing charge time. However, the triggering event for it is not a final blow but swapping to this weapon. So you get a 2 sec boost for just taking this gun to your hands – that's not a lot but still, a good bonus to have.

How do you obtain it?

It's a decent reward for all fans of the Iron Banner since that's the only source for this weapon. Lord Saladin gives out special caches for anyone who has ranked up in the Banner and there's a little chance to find some great legendary inside those caches. If you're lucky enough, you'll find The Wizened Rebuke this way quite soon. But luck is a thing that guarantees nothing! And if you hate taking chances and hate RNG in general, you shouldn't hunt for this fusion rifle on your own. Get a strong pro team on your side that will do as many rank-ups as needed to unlock this shooter for you. Now this is a guarantee alright!
