What is Conditional Finality?

Conditional Finality is an exotic kinetic shotgun that was added to the game in Season 20 (Season of Defiance). It deals Stasis damage and uses Special (green) ammo. Some would say that it's a part of the Root of Nightmares Raid Gear set but it generally depends on whether you consider weapons a part of sets or not, since there are no special bonuses directly related to having a full set equipped. It's a great weapon that is meant to be the greatest reward you can find in the Root of Nightmares raid but we'll get back to its source later in more detail.

What makes Conditional Finality so good?

Not only does this exotic shotgun deal lots of damage (imagine shooting a round from this monster point blank at some unfortunate poor enemy), but also it offers a couple of great perks. The biggest selling point of it is its unique exotic perk titled "Split Decision" which makes dual barrels split into Stasis and Solar damage. So you basically deal multi-type damage which can become very, very handy at some boss fights and not just there.

Another noteworthy feature of this shotgun is the perk "Paracausal Pellets". It turns your Stasis pellets into some sort of a fridge that literally freezes targets. The chance of that happening is not 100% but it's close to that. Solar pellets get another special effect: they ignite targets. So both types of power get a lovely power-up with it.

There are more recommended perks to get with this gun: Shortened Barrel (+20 handling, -5 range & stability), Alloy Magazine (+ reloading speed when your magazine is empty), and Textured Grip (+15 handling, -5 stability). It might surprise you that these perks offer such a tradeoff: you get lots of handling, yet lose a decent amount of stability. But remember, it's a shotgun! Stability is not its most important stat, so it's alright! Getting back to the recommended perks, keep in mind that you are not guaranteed to get these perks exactly. Since the gun is so rare, it might take you some time to get it with any perks, let alone particular ones. So be patient and hope for the best!

How do I unlock Conditional Finality?

It's pretty straightforward but still rather painful. You go to the Root of Nightmares raid, defeat all hostile beings in it, then beat the final boss, and... with shaking hands check the loot to see if the Conditional Finality has dropped to you. We'll be frank, it's not a very common drop and it will likely take you lots of runs to finally get it. And don't expect them to be just that – that is, literally runs with just running around. It also includes shooting, knowing tactics, and team coordination. Those things are quite hard. And you gotta do at least 2 runs per week (regular and master) to test your luck as many times as possible.

Luckily, there's a way to improve your chances. By completing certain triumphs you can get a permanent drop chance increase for this gun. The triumphs that can help you with it are (total – 11):

Classic Horror: defeat all bosses in the Root of Nightmares (RON) raid with a team consisting of Guardians of the same class
Dream Weavers: defeat all bosses in RON with a team in which all guardians use the Strand subclass
Psionic Purge: during the Cataclysm encounter, defeat all Psions within 1 sec of each other
Shields Up: during the Scissions encounter do not down attuned shielded combatants on a floor until both node chains are complete on it
Singular Orbit: during the Macrocosm encounter, none of your team members should get the Planetary Insight more than once in the same Planetary Shift
Synchronicity: during the Nezarec encounter, turn on both sets of nodes within 5 sec of each other and beat the boss
Illuminated Torment: complete this challenge
Crossfire: complete this challenge
Cosmic Equilibrium: complete this challenge
All Hands: complete this challenge
Final Nightmare: beat all bosses on the Master difficulty

You can imagine how long it's going to take you, right? Anyway, you'll get the drop rate increase but don't expect it to be 100% or something close to that. It will still be a treasure hunt alright.

The best way to handle that is to have our time on your side. We will make any of your RON runs seem much easier than it is. And you will definitely enjoy completing it so fast, especially it has already become a part of your daily routine. Getting this weapon is hard and random, but we will do RON runs for you for as long as it takes to finally get your Conditional Finality!
