How to get Mewtwo in Pokemon Go? A brief guide
Who doesn't dream of catching a truly mighty Pokemon who's capable of decimating most opponents in 1 or 2 hits? One of the most powerful creatures in the game is Mewtwo who's also among the most iconic Pokemon of all generations. In this brief blog post we'll tell you all you need to know about the king of Kanto and how to get it.
In Pokemon Go Mewtwo unsurprisingly has the Psychic type and the Legendary status. It belong to the Kanto region Pokedex and, like most other legendaries, it doesn't evolve from anything or to anything, so no, there's no way around catching exactly Mewtwo. It has mega evolutions though but that's a story for another day.
Those are some impressive stats, to put it mildly! It shouldn't come as a surprise though, since it's a legendary Pokemon – and to be more precise, a legendary that's deemed one of of the strongest in the game.

What's that Armored mentioned in the Availaibility column, you might wonder. The thing is Mewtwo has an Armored form that interestingly comes with a different skill set. So we'll mention it again below in the table with Charged Attacks! Let's see what skills there are:
As you can see, Charged Attacks are absolutely different between the 2 versions of this legendary Pokemon, so it definitely not just about visuals.

What forms does it have?
As we've already mentioned, there are Regular Mewtwo and Armored Mewtwo. They have the same type and stats but their skill sets differ considerably. Visuals are also quite dissimilar with the Armored version having, well, armor! The Armored Mewtwo even has a special badass trailer that it got when it first released in 2019:There's also the so called Shadow Mewtwo that you can get in Shadow Raids and that Giovanni, the leader of Team Rocket sometimes gets as one of his fighters (but there seems to be a rotation of Pokemon so it's not guaranteed that he currently summons Shadow Mewtwo).
And, of course, there's the shiny version of Mewtwo. It has a green belly and a tail but other than its appearance there are no differences between it and the regular version whatsoever.
