📄 What are TerraGroup documents?

TerraGroup documents are Battle Pass items that Escape from Tarkov players collect and extract to claim KORD BREACH rewards. Battlestate Games says the documents come from raids, the KORD BREACH task line, and certain Black Division operatives. Battle Pass progress and earned rewards are shared across PvP Season, PvP Zone, and PvE Zone.

TerraGroup document types

Battlestate prints the map list for every document type inside the item's own in-game description, so the type-to-map table below is official rather than community-guessed. Read the description in your stash and it will name the maps that type drops on - three for every type checked here, though a balance patch can change that. What is not official is the room-by-room spawn set, so treat each map as a confirmed hunting ground and still check a current marker source for the rooms.

Not every type carries the TerraGroup name in its own description - Project documentation, for example, is credited to Tarkov Infraline - but all of them count the same way toward the Battle Pass. The useful distinction is simple. The raid documents are the normal items you loot and extract. Classified documents are a separate universal substitute that Battlestate says can replace any other required type. They are not a raid drop: you buy them with TarCoins in the Expansions Hub, so treat them as a paid shortcut rather than a route. Battlestate clarified on August 24 that they cannot be used in the Black Division gear crate exchange, work in any game mode, are not deleted on a progress reset, and carry over into future seasons. How they advance the Battle Pass

Documents advance the Battle Pass when the required document is in the inventory of any game mode. That shared system means a PvE Zone raid can support a reward you later use in PvP Season, and the reverse is also true. Battlestate's Battle Pass announcement does not tie document progress to a Seasonal Character, so a normal profile can collect documents. Confirm in-client before planning around it.

Choose the document type your next reward requests before you choose a map. This guide does not list reward tiers or progress math because the KORD BREACH Season 1 guide owns that decision.

Location table

The tracker organizes document locations by type. The standard-document rows reproduce the map list printed in each item's in-game description, reviewed on August 28, 2026 against the in-game descriptions and current item databases. Classified documents are different because Battlestate defines them as a universal substitute rather than a map-specific raid document.

The Tarkov Documents Map is a useful starting point because it labels itself community-made, shows marker details and screenshots, includes key requirements, and displays its update date. It is not affiliated with Battlestate Games. Refresh it before a route and report a bad marker rather than treating an old screenshot as a fixed spawn.

Evidence status

The table uses two evidence labels, and one more applies to everything below the map level:

• Official (in-game item description): the map list is printed in the item's own description in your stash. That is Battlestate's own text, not a community guess.
• Confirmed by Battlestate: the mechanic is stated in a Battlestate post or patch note. Personal raid spawns, shared Black Division drops, the Classified documents rules and the daily transfer limits all sit here.
• Community-mapped: not a table value. It covers the room-by-room markers that current player resources report for each map. Good for route planning, never official.
• Check in-game: Exact rooms, marker counts, key needs, route timing, and reset behavior can change first. Confirm them in the live client and current map source.

Battlestate's launch post gave only broad map examples: "one type can be found on Streets of Tarkov and Customs, while another appears on Factory and The Lab". No shipped document type actually pairs Factory with The Lab, so treat that post as pre-release marketing copy and read the item description in the client instead.

🧭 What are the best document routes?

The best document route starts with the type you need, then uses a current community map on a location you can survive and extract from reliably. A fast-looking route is not useful if it skips the documented markers, requires a key you do not have, or ends with an avoidable death before extraction.

Low-risk route

For a lower-friction route, select one document type and one familiar map. Open the live tracker, pin a small group of marked locations, and make extraction the priority after you find a document. Ground Zero is named in the in-game description for both Medical documents and User documentation, but the exact marker set is community-mapped and needs a current check. Icebreaker is the one map on the list that is not a free pick: it needs the Boreas and Hangover questlines plus a paid Shoreline transit in and a paid extract out, and community reporting on the August 6, 2026 technical update put those fees at 700,000 roubles in and 4,000 euros out, up from 400,000 and 2,400. Reserve or Lighthouse for PMC personnel files, and Shoreline or Woods for Test documentation, are the cheap routes to the same types.

Do not turn this into a full-map sweep. Your goal is a clean document extraction, not an hour of unplanned loot detours. If the map needs a key or the reported marker is in a dangerous sightline, choose a different reported map for the same type.

Squad route

A squad can coordinate the route without competing for ordinary raid-document copies. Battlestate says each player has personal raid spawns, so another player cannot take your assigned document before you do or loot it from your PMC body. Each player should still check and extract their own copy.

Black Division documentation works differently. Battlestate says qualifying drops from defeated Black Division operatives are shared among players. Call out that exception before the squad starts, then keep the group focused on surviving the extract rather than assuming every document interaction behaves the same way.

Catch-up route

Use a catch-up route when only one or two types remain. Pick the needed type, choose one reported map, refresh the marker source, and take the shortest route that still gives you a realistic extract. Factory can be a compact Project or Blueprints option, but it is not a guaranteed quick clear and its current markers may include high-risk or key-dependent rooms. If Factory is the map you keep dying on, a Factory raid carry is a way to bank the run instead of repeating it.

🤝 Are document pickups personal or shared?

Ordinary raid documents are personal, while qualifying Black Division document drops are shared. This difference lets squads move through reported document areas without racing for the same normal item. It also means a Black Division encounter needs a different pickup plan and clear communication.

Personal pickup rules

Battlestate describes raid documentation as task-item-like. Every player receives personal document spawns. Another player cannot pick up the document intended for you before you do, and other players cannot loot that personal document from your PMC body after you die.

That rule removes one common source of squad friction. It does not remove the need to extract. The official balance update says the document transfer counter begins once at least one document has been taken out of a raid, so treat a successful extraction as the end of the document run.

Shared items

Documentation found on defeated Black Division operatives is shared among all players. That is the stated exception to the personal-spawn rule. Tell the squad which type of document interaction you are dealing with before you loot the body.

A shared Black Division drop does not turn normal map spawns into shared loot.

Squad edge cases

Mixed-mode planning is where teams can get confused. Progress is shared across modes, but the daily limit is not: it varies by the mode you have selected. Do not build a plan around adding three separate caps together.

If your team sees behavior that conflicts with the guide, capture the mode, patch version, and source of the document. Then check Battlestate's latest update before repeating a claimed rule in your group plan.

⏱️ Battle Pass document daily cap and mode limits

Battlestate's current balance update lists daily document transfer limits of 30 in PvP Season, 20 in PvP Zone, and 15 in PvE Zone. The same update says each map has 14 documents, except Factory with 10, and that the transfer counter begins once a document is extracted. These values are hotfix-sensitive.

Official limit rules

The current figures come from Battlestate's official document balance update of August 13, 2026. The update raised the earlier limits from 25 to 30 for PvP Season, from 15 to 20 for PvP Zone, and from 10 to 15 for PvE Zone. It also raised the document count to 14 per map, except Factory at 10.

Use the values as a daily planning ceiling, not a promise that every document will be easy to find. The same official post says the counter begins once at least one document has been extracted. It does not publish an exact reset time.

Mode-wide effects

The launch rules state that the daily limit depends on the selected game mode while progress toward that limit is shared across modes. That makes your selected mode part of the route decision. It does not support a plan that treats every mode as an independent daily bank.

If you change modes, check the live counter behavior and current Battlestate notes before you assume a remaining amount. Make the in-game interface the final authority when a hotfix and an older guide disagree.

Unverified numeric reports

Do not treat an exact reset hour as fact until Battlestate posts one. Do not treat a community report about spawn visibility, late-cap behavior, secure-container handling, or a mixed-mode calculation as a universal mechanic. Those details are where launch-week guides age fastest.

The durable plan is simpler. Check the official cap, run the document type you actually need, extract what you find, and record the date and mode when you update your tracker.

Export/print

Keep the tracker small enough to use before you queue. A one-page list works better than a giant collection of copied room names. Print it, save it as a phone note, or create one row per document type in a shared squad sheet.

Add links to the current community map rather than transcribing every marker. This keeps your own tracker useful when the community map corrects a location or a patch changes document behavior.
