What is Weekly Conquest Cap boost?

You can only earn so many conquest points each week. But earning it is not that easy too. Getting conquest points requires being successful in the arena and winning fights which is not always easy, especially when you've already left the lowest rank bracket. What is Weekly Conquest Cap actually?

To make arena and rated battlegrounds (if anyone still cares about them) more fair for everyone, Blizzard introduced a weekly cap. What it means is that you can't earn more than a particular amount of PvP currency per week. That currency is the only way to get new gear, hence no one will have a gear-based advantage over everyone else. Even if a crazy PvP fan plays 160 hours a week while you just spend 10 hours on it, you'll be in the same position regarding what gear you can buy. Since you both won't be able to collect more than the cap, you'll be eligible to buy the same amount of gear.

That doesn't mean, however, that a player who spends more time won't be able to get a better rank. Most likely they will get it. If their skill is good enough, of course. But the difference between your rank and theirs will be skill-based and effort-based, not gear-based. That's what Blizzard want to combat: the decisive role of gear.

Each week the cap rises a bit. Week 1 might have it as high as 1350. Next week it rises by, say, 550 (total = 1350 + 550 = 1900). Week 3 will have another 550 increase for the total of 2450. And so on. You can see the progression in this table:

That means that if you missed the first week of the season, you'll be able to catch up no matter when you join in. That's another way to keep the competitive PvP season fair.
