WHAT IS VEXCALIBUR?

It's an exotic void glaive, a powerful melee weapon that you don't even have to aim with! Just approach hostiles and slash them! Its name is an obvious reference to the Excalibur sword, the weapon of King Arthur.

HOW IS VEXCALIBUR GOOD?

The biggest part of the Vexcalibur experience is its overshield. You can help your team receive less damage with it as well as be more resilient to enemies' attacks in melee combat. And what other type of combat do you expect with a glaive! Right, so you basically become a tank. The damage done by Vexcalibur is quite high too, so all the benefits are there: both your defence and offence will get a significant upgrade with this sword.

HOW TO OBTAIN VEXCALIBUR?

Unlocking Vexcalibur is a tedious process that involves questing, crafting, grinding, shooting, and so much more. No wonder that not all players find this to be their idea of fun and delegate obtainment of the glaive to our pros. Let's take a closer look at what you'll have to deal with if you decide to do it all yourself.

Complete the BEYOND LIGHT campaign and unlock the SEASON OF THE CHOSEN
Go to the TOWER and talk to BANSHEE-44, a prominent gunsmith who will give you the pattern quest
Collect PARADOXICAL ROOTS across Europa and Nessus to complete the pattern quest's requirement
CHARGE the collected Roots: you need to hit enemies with a sword for some time for that until you get that requirement completed too
Obtain AEONIAN BLOOM: you will get it after defeating the harpy-boss Atheon in the Glassway Strike on Europa
Collect RADIOLARIAN FLUID: obtain it for completing various activities (lost sectors, public events, etc) on Mercury
CHARGE the Fluid: again, defeat enemies with a sword to progress with charging
Complete the CURSE OF THE NEXUS quest which involves lots of seemingly unconnected things like defeating particular NPCs and completing particular strikes, including those on Venus
For some reason you have to complete the NEXUS STRIKE once again – this time you will find a new boss there, the Vex Mind. It will only appear there after you've completed the previous quest (step 8). Upon defeating the Vex Mind, you will receive the Vexcalibur.
Although you already have the glaive, you should UPGRADE it to make it that very weapon that you've been expecting to get. For that complete the quest MEMORY OF THE DYING which requires you to collect various reagents for completing activities on Europa and Nessus.
