What kind of raid is Lucent Citadel in ESO?

Lucent Citadel is a trial introduced in the Gold Road chapter. It's located in the chapter's main zone – West Weald. Not only it's the year's biggest pinnacle PvE activity, but also it occupies an important place in its area and holds lots of mysteries for adventurers to solve. Most of those mysteries resolve around Daedra and their arcane vault. And of course, it's players who are supposed to figure out what the presence of those horned scoundrels in the citadel actually means and whether it bodes well for everyone living around (spoiler: not really. But you could actually guess it yourself, so that's not much of a spoiler).
