The 1st boss of any Mythic raid is always a great way for casual players to participate in true high-end raiding. Even if you won't progress further than 1/8 in the hardest mode of Liberation of Undermine, defeating the first boss is already a good achievement. Besides, there's some impressive loot there...
We encourage you to try fighting Vexie & The Geargrinders, the first boss of the LOU raid. While the boss is a part of a Mythic lineup, it's the easiest one to beat and it holds lots of very valuable items. This blog post is dedicated to showing you what riches you can get for winning over Vexie and her noisy machines. Let's go!
1. A Damage-Focused Trinket
Item name: Geargrinder's Spare Keys
Description: This trinket provides lots of primary stat (Agility, Strength, or Intellect, depending on your spec) – but stats are not what we love trinkets for. It's their effects. And this one does a truly amazing thing: you can activate it to summon a geargrinder machine. It will move in the direction you were looking at when summoning it. On impact with the first target in its way, it will – you guessed it! – explode, dealing AOE Fire damage.
Oh, the good old goblin engineering!.. While it's quite predictable that any goblin gizmo will blow up at a certain point, it always feels your heart with joy and warmth when it eventually does.
Why we love it: It's fun, it's powerful, and it perfectly reflects the character of the boss who drops it. First, these keys are something that you'd expect Vexie to actually have in her pocket. Second, it literally summons a geargrinder, similar to ones featured in the boss fight.
2. A Gear Power-Up
Item name: Gilded Undermine Crest
Description: This is the Mythic version of the Undermine Crest, a gear update resource dropping from all the bosses of Liberation of Undermine. You can update any Hero & Myth items of Season 2 with them to 662 ilvl or even higher.
Some people are still a bit confused with the way these crests describe their application but we'll try to clear it up. "Hero & Myth items" quite expectedly come from the Heroic & Mythic versions of the LOU raid – but it doesn't mean that it can only be used to update raid gear. In fact, you can also apply them to items from Mythic Plus dungeons (all great vault rewards from M+ and end-of-the-dungeon rewards starting from M+6) and Delves (bounty rewards from level 8 and beyond).
Why we love it: You can't find a better resource for upgrading gear than the one dropping from Mythic bosses. Even if you're unlucky and can't get any useful items from Vexie, defeating her weekly will at least let you accumulate Gilded Crests and gradually upgrade all the gear you already have.

Item name: Undercircuit Racing Flag
Description: It's a regular solid item that gets you plenty of the main stat (Agility, Strength, or Intellect, depending on your spec), loads of Stamina, and lovely bonuses for Critical Strike and Haste. An update that any character would welcome.
Why we love it: It might not be something special but it delivers great value. It can also be used by all the specs and it'll likely be better than any non-Mythic cloak you currently have.
Items' names: Vexie's Pit Whistle
Description: The active effect of this trinket summons a robot that... spreads oil on the nearby enemies? Yes, that's exactly what it does! Unsurprisingly, the enemies see that as a provocation and your threat to them rises as they prioritize you as their primary target. Which is just what you need as a tank – a little help for keeping the aggro.
The robot also explodes (oh my, who'd have thought) 5 seconds after being activated. The nearby enemies receive Fire damage which is 15% higher if they've been "oiled". So to sum up, it helps you with aggro and deals AOE damage.
Why we love it: It does all the things a tank trinket should and serves a great alternative to the Gallywix tank trinket. And of course it's easier to get than the Gallywix one as this one comes from the first boss of the raid. It also has a fun animation and is very in line with Vexie's character.

5. A Plate Helmet
Item name: Fullthrottle Facerig
Description: A non-tier set plate helmet that gives you a decent increase in armor, main stat (Strength or Intellect) and Stamina. In addition you get a serious Critical Strike increase and a smaller Haste power-up.
Why we love it: The Head-slot is valued above all the others among armor. So plate-bearers are lucky to get an option, although not a tier-one, from the introductory boss. It's an easy upgrade that requires a little luck – but if you are lucky, you'll get a very welcome advantage.
What else does Vexie drop?
Our top 5 best items can give you a great idea of what to expect from the boss. But you need a fuller picture – and what can paint it better than the full list of items? So here it is!

While most of those items can be obtained in other difficulties too, their Mythic version is going to be the best one, quite expectedly. Since Vexie & The Geargrinders are the opening boss of LOU, you should expect their Mythic loot to be 662 ilvl. It's very high! It's higher than the loot from Gallywix and Mug'Zee at the Heroic version, safe for very rare items that have ilvl 665.
