How to Level Up Fast in Rocket League — Best XP Farming Methods

Rocket League has so many ways to keep you engaged – no wonder you can't stop playing! Even if you're not aiming for the highest ranks, there are still plenty of progression systems to track how well you're going. Leveling is one of them – it's accessible, straightforward and makes every match feel more meaningful thanks to its XP contribution.

Some players find it very enjoyable and rewarding and want to learn how to level up fast in Rocket League. If that sounds like you and you like the look of big numbers, this little guide is for you! We'll cover all the important things: how leveling works, what rewards will motivate you to keep going, and how you can achieve the fastest pace possible.

↗️ How does leveling work in Rocket League?

As you win games, complete challenges, or do all kinds of other activities, you collect experience (XP). Up to level 20, the amount of XP required to level up varies – but as you hit 20, it's always 20,000 XP from there on. 20K isn't all that much, so most players progress easily and reach levels past 100 quite fast if they play Rocket League regularly.

And essentially, that's the main idea of leveling – to sum up how long you've been driving battle cars. The most dedicated players have four-digit levels to show off – as well as special cosmetic rewards that come along with them. Let's see what they are.

🏆 What leveling rewards are there?

Numbers are nice, but even the highest numbers can't beat cool cosmetics in how excited players can be about them. There are two main types of leveling rewards in Rocket League:

  • Titles
  • Avatar borders
Titles are displayed before your username, and while you can hide them, why would you? They're the first thing other players will learn about you – and it's enough for most to determine how experienced you are. You earn a new title every 20 levels up to level 100 – after that, they come more slowly: one title per 100 levels until level 1,000. Let's see what titles there are and at what level you receive them:

  1. Veteran – 20
  2. Expert – 40
  3. Master – 60
  4. Legend – 80
  5. Rocketeer – 100
  6. Elite Challenger – 200
  7. All-Star – 300
  8. Superstar – 400
  9. Supreme Rival – 500
  10. Transcendent Master – 600
  11. Legendary Nemesis – 700
  12. Ultimate Baller – 800
  13. Rocketeer Elite – 900
  14. Rocket Demigod – 1,000
These are some imaginative ways to call someone! And they don't come alone – fancy avatar borders are another treat for power levelers. They have a slightly different interval: every 25 levels before level 300 and then every 50 levels until level 1,900. Note that unlike many other frames, these can't be traded with other players. Here are some of the frames:

🚀 What are the fastest ways to level up?

If collecting titles and avatar borders is your thing, it's only natural to wonder how to level up fast in Rocket League. There are multiple ways to collect more XP – we've listed them below as short, easy-to-follow tips. But first, let's look at some of the most common sources of experience and how much of it you get from them:

  • 1 online win = 100 + 10% of your score
  • Getting the MVP title = 50
  • Completing one challenge (weekly or season) = 10,000 to 20,000
You can see the sudden spike from challenges – and it's there for a reason. Let's start with the tip focused on them.

1. Complete challenges 💪

Most of the time, you have access to two types of challenges:

  • Weekly
  • Season
Surprisingly, the amount of experience they yield isn't that different between the two, although season objectives stay active longer and take much more time to complete. That makes weekly objectives a much more lucrative option, since you can earn up to 60,000 XP by completing them each week – while season challenges give you roughly the same amount per season.

Usually, challenges are straightforward and don't force you to do things that make your gameplay less fun. But if you get one that doesn't sit well with you, it's okay to just skip it. After all, completing even one challenge per week is a solid experience boost, so why not do it?

2. Play SideSwipe 📱

If you really love Rocket League, you should try taking it on the go. The mobile edition is called SideSwipe, and it's just as fun to play. What's more, if you want to level up faster in the main game, SideSwipe can be of great help. Your SideSwipe account is separate from your regular Rocket League one. If you link both to the same Epic Games account, you'll get an XP boost every time you level up in either game.

Here's how it works: whenever you level up in SideSwipe, you get an extra 4,000 XP the next time you win an online match in the regular RL. You can claim this bonus up to 70 times each season. And it works the other way too: whenever you level up in the main game, you get an extra 4K experience in the mobile version next time you win – up to 50 times per season.

3. Track your daily wins 🗓

Each week, you can earn extra experience by winning your first three online matches of the day – 2,000 per victory. This is perfect if you're limited on time and can only play a couple of games or hours each day. Sure, you won't win every game, but even one victory gives as much XP as about 20 normal wins would.
