5 Best Rewards in WoW Trading Post (October 2024)

October in WoW has always been a month dominated by its version of Halloween – Hallow's End. This month's Trading Post reflects that with the items it offers! There'll be lots of references to Shadowlands as it's where the spirits of the dead come to visit Azeroth from! Let's see what the top-5 items of this month are, in our opinion!

***

Halloween transmog

Items' names: Ensemble: Ragged Harvest Golem; Haverseter's Claw
What is it: a scarecrow transmog set + a scarecrow's claw weapon transmog
Get it for: 800 Trader's tenders + 250 Trader's tenders

Brand new models are something we love a lot and here's a whole freshly designed set! While it's obvious that it's meant for Halloween, we'd say that it's quite great in its own right and can be worn all year round. If you're a warlock or a rogue, you'll certainly have some fun adding parts of it to your look.

The priciest part of the set is... the set itself as it comes in one piece packed in an ensemble item – the price is 800 tenders. The claw comes separately and the bad news is that it's a fist weapon which isn't something you'd expect a rogue or a warlock to carry. But it's not a big problem: the classes that do use fist weapons will surely love it.

Jellyfish mount

Item's name: Depthstalker
What is it: a jellyfish flying mount
Get it for: Filling the monthly progress bar

It's a cool-looking translucent jelly-fish, huge in size and flying fast. It seems to have some ancient machinery inside it for a core and some armor a part of which has a comfortable saddle for your character to land their bottom on. It's a lovely flying mount and as most other mounts in the trading post, it shares its model with some others.

Luckily for us, getting the Depthstalker by just filling this month's progress bar is much less of an endeavour than obtaining any other translucent jellyfish mount (they are called aurelids in the game). We'll prove it with this handy table:

#NAMECOLORSHOW TO GET
1Cryptic Aurelid
  • Aurelid: orange
  • Armor: reddish brown
From A to Zereth acheivement (Zereth Mortis' exploration, Shadwlands)
2Deepstar Aurelid
  • Aurelid: yellow
  • Armor: gray & gold
Drops from a rare elite NPC called Hirukon (Zereth Mortis, Shadowlands)
3👑 Depthstalker
  • Aurelid: pale yellow
  • Armor: purple gray
Fill the Trading Post progress bar in October 2024
4Shimmering Aurelid
  • Aurelid: pale orange
  • Armor: gray & bronze
Glory of the Sepulcher Raider (Sepulcher of the First Ones raid, the final raid of the Shadowlands expansion)
If spending hours of your time in Zereth Mortis sounds like a good idea, no problem, you'll have lots of fun hunting for those other aurelids. But if it's not something you'd like to do, getting Depthstalker is your best choice to add a jellyfish like that to your garage!

Hand mount

Item name: Hand of Reshikgaal
What is it: a gigantic severed hand ground mount
Get it for: 750 Trader's tenders

What is a better opportunity to give us an enlarged version of The Thing from the Addams Family than Halloween? Hand of Reshikgaal of course has armor on it so it's not just a gigantic severed hand - but it won't be a mistake to call it that.

What's great about it is that not only it's fun to ride but also it's by far the easiest hand mount in the game to obtain. Do you remember the other 4? Here's a brief reminder:

#MOUNT NAMEPRIMARY COLORSOURCE
1Hand of BahmethraBrownishDops from rare mobs in The Maw known as Tormentors of Torghast
2Hand of HrestimorakGreenishGlory of the Dominant Raider achievement (Sanctum of Domination raid, Shadowlands)
3Hand o NilganihmahtGoldCollect 4 rare rings around the Shadowlands by completing numerous quests
4Hand of SalarangaBlackBreaking the Chains achievement (Korthia's exploration & progress, Shadowlands)
All those mounts were introduced in update 9.1 back in the Shadowlands days. Not many players are keen on going back to that pale realm so it's best to get this month's mount and call it a day if riding a huge hand is what you want.

Skate fish pet

Items' names: Soot-Stained Shalewing
What is it: a skate fish-like  pet
Get it for: 200 Trader's Tenders

If you've spent some time treasure-hunting about the Zeralek Cavern back in Dragonflight or later, the name Deepridger might ring a bell. That pet is notoriously hard to find and some people spent a lot of hours to do so and not all succeed. The horrible Deepridger has a similar model to this month's Trading Post pet: Soot-Stained Shalewing, so it's a great opportunity to get a similarly looking creature to your squad.

It's also a known fact that these skate fish like creates exist in a quantity exceeding 2: there are at least 4 more of them. The one that comes closest to Soot-Stained Shalewing in terms of skills is Ridged Shalewing (drops from a rare NPC in Zeralek Cavern called Karokta). Here's how their skillsets compare:

#SKILLTYPESOOT-STAINEDRIDGED
1Creeping FungusUndead
2Dust CloudBeast
3FlurryCritter
4Leech SeedElemental
5MudslideCritter
6Sand BoltElemental
7Slicing WindFlying
8Spore ShroomsElemental
9StoneskinMagic
Speaking of stats, these 2 bat-skates have identical max level stats:

  • Health: 1'644
  • Power: 260
  • Speed: 260
Those very same numbers apply to max levels of other pets with similar models:

  • Deepridger
  • Ravenous Shalewing
  • Shalewing Devourer
  • Slabwing

What about non-cosmetic gear?

Perhaps, your character needs some upgrades? Cosmetic items are nice but your in-combat performance is essential to your progress in WoW. Consider getting a fast and affordable Gearing boost – take a look at our options right here!

Good old Zhevra

Item name: Swift Zhevra
What is it: a zebra mount
Get it for: 550 Trader's tenders each

This is a second time we get a chance to claim this elusive legacy mount from the Trading Post. Once it was a Recruit-a-Friend mount... No, rather it was THE Recruit-a-Friend mount way before we learned that more mounts would come. The original reward given to people bringing their friends along – behold, here's your opportunity to get it!

It first appeared sometime at the end of the 00s, then it got replaced by other rewards and removed, yet several years after that it had a comeback when the RAF system became more versatile and you could choose your reward yourself. Time passed and Zhevra got removed for the second time. And now it received a third chance to ride across Azeroth: now it's clear that it will be a recurring reward in the Trading Post. But recurring doesn't mean worthless. You never know when this mount comes back if at all, so waste no time and add it to your collection while you can.

There are many more things you can find in the Trading Post this month! For example, there's this light and dark theme for weapons: some weapons represent the dark force (like the Feathered Bow of the Night) while others represent the light force (like the Feathered Bow of the Fallen). Also, there are lots of other items of interest: Ugly Black Boots for people of simple pleasures, a gray simple armor set for those who want to stay unnoticed, and so on.

If you want to collect trader's tenders fast and purchase lots of items this month, don't hesitate to request assistance! We'll be happy to help you with a quick and effective boosting service!
