Why the 2010 Lobbies Are Busy Again

On 9 July 2026 Black Ops came back on PS4 and PS5, a straight port of the original carrying the campaign, multiplayer and the base Zombies maps. Progression did not travel with it. Players who finished PS3 at Prestige Master arrived on the new servers at level 1, which is most of the reason Call of Duty Black Ops boosting picked up again. Xbox is a separate story: the game has run there through backward compatibility since 2016, on an older and quieter player pool, and we work on both.

Fifty Levels, Then Fifteen More Climbs

Level 50 takes roughly 1.2 million experience. Prestige Mode then resets you to the bottom and asks for it again, fifteen times over. A Black Ops level boost normally targets that first stretch. The weapons worth carrying are scattered along it: the AK74u waits at rank 17 and the Galil at 20, while the L96A1 stays locked until 27 and the Commando sits all the way out at 44.

What the Prestige Ladder Pays Out

Most of the ladder is cosmetic, and only the odd numbered rungs change how you play. A Black Ops prestige boost usually aims at the last few tiers. That is where the rewards stop being playercard decoration.

• Prestige 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9 add custom class slots, six through ten
• Prestige 11 unlocks the Lion, Spider, Demon and Dragon face paints
• Prestige 13 opens colored clan tags
• Prestige 14 puts gold camo within reach at 50,000 points per primary weapon
• Prestige 15 closes the run out with the final emblem

Every Unlock Costs You Twice

Reaching the right rank only earns you the option to buy. The weapon itself still costs COD Points, and so does every attachment, perk and camo you bolt onto it. Points come back at about a tenth of your match experience, topped up each time you level, and the whole balance is wiped the moment you prestige. Contracts pay out on top of that when you finish them inside the timer. That timing is why Black Ops unlocks reward planning.

• Primary weapons 2,000 points, pistols 1,500
• Perks 2,000, and Pro versions want three challenges each before you pay 3,000
• Attachments anywhere between 250 and 3,000
• Camos 250 apiece, gold excepted
