What is Blackfathom Deeps in Season of Discovery?

Blackfathom Deeps has changed in this season of the Vanilla. Although the place loos mostly the same and the bosses are familiar to anyone who's ever stepped in this dungeon before, one thing about it is very different now. It's not a dungeon, it's a raid. The first level 20 raid in the game, ladies and gentlemen. You can literally level up by raiding with friends. The idea of it strikes us as both simple and strange. Raids are meant to be the apex of the PvE experience, aren't they? But why are we so sure that it should be this way? BFD works quite well as a 10-player raid. It has a 3-day lockout and lots of valuable gear – some items can even be assembled in sets.

If you come to think of it, BFD has had great makings of a raid all along. Its entrance is hard to find and doing that is a challenge on its own, its bosses are numerous, and its size is impressive. We believe that Blizzard did the right thing with this peculiar experiment and Akumai and friends have finally received the treatment they've deserved for years. Maybe we should also get a high-level Heroic version of it later on? Well, let's see what the developers have got in store for us.

What armor sets can you obtain there?

While this might sound really strange to WoW veterans, but yes, you now can collect a raid armor set at level 20. Let's see what sets there are:

We know what you might be thinking – we had that idea too – where is the plate set and why are there 2 leather ones? Well, the truth is that plate armor can't be used by players below level 40 (and the raid is made for level 20). And as for leather sets, stats don't automatically change to suit your spec in Classic, so you can't have just one leather set to satisfy all existing specializations that use this armor type. That's why there are as many as 2 of them.

The sets are not class-bound, as you can see, which might be a good idea since it'll completely crazy to design class sets for armor that will be soon changed to something else as players will progress beyond level 25 with upcoming Season of Discovery updates.
