WoW Remix Mists of Pandaria – What is it?

Lately we've had several brand new game modes in WoW and here's yet another one. If you got confused by the plethora of all the new stuff coming in, we'd not blame you. But now that Plunderstorm has ended, the empty space of something special and time-limited is vacant... not for long though.

The Remix Mists of Pandaria is what's going to take its place as the main attention grabber. It'll have its own servers and will look like a Classic version of the game in many ways... But it won't be a Classic version and the characters from those separate servers will be able to travel to the Modern WoW servers after the event's finished.

Okay, that can be a little overwhelming. Let's take a look at each aspect of this new game mode one piece at a time! Find all the information you need to understand what this thing is below in our brief yet detailed article!

What is WoW Remix Mists of Pandaria?

Remix Mists of Pandaria is a special game mode that lets you re-experience the Mists of Pandaria content in a sped up form. You'll be able to level up on Pandaria, complete its questlines, do dungeons, scenarios, and raids.

So it will be very similar to other classic versions of the game but there'll be certain differences too. It will exist only for about 3 months and won't evolve into the next expansion (sorry, fans of Warlords of Draenor... if there any). WoW Cataclysm Classic won't be related to the Remix mode in any way either. So it's just a separate thing to keep players busy until the release of the next expansion in the modern WoW.

Other differences include:

  • ditching gold as the main currency and introduction of Bronze instead
  • adding new NPCs (Infinite Bazaars) that will accept Bronze
  • removal of the Auction House and gear vendors
  • giving us lots of guaranteed sources for rare items that used to be random drops (like numerous mounts)
And so on. Read on to learn more! Or, if you prefer videos, check out this great overview by MrGM:

When is it released?

This game mode starts on May 16 2024 and ends on August 19 2024. The former is shortly after the release of patch 10.2.7 and the latter must be shortly before the release of War Within, the next expansion.

Do I need to make new characters for it?

Yes, to participate in the Remix mode you need a fresh character. You'll start with level 10 and will be able to progress all the way to level 70. After the Remix mode ends, you'll get your characters transferred to the modern WoW servers.

So it won't be in vain. Some people suggest looking at the Remix mode as a new fun way to spice up alts leveling. And we believe that they are correct in a way.

In a way, Remix Mists of Pandaria resembles Plunderstorm: a time-limited event with separate servers. But unlike Punderstorm, it'll yield much more usefulness to your Modern WoW characters.

Do I have to level up all the way to level 70?

Yes, it might sound daunting to go through as many as 60 levels but fear not! The process will be significantly squished and you won't have to spend too much time leveling up. The whole Pandaria storyline helped you take your characters from level 85 to 90. Despite having 7 zones most of which were quite vast, you were only supposed to raise 5 levels there.

That goes to show that it didn't take you too much time to level up back in the original Pandaria days. And since we're getting a major experience squish and boost this time, we can be sure that it's not going to take us ages to hit the max level.

Level up even faster in Pandaria

However, if you're not a fan of leveling, you can always rely on your favorite carries! ArmadaBoost has a special Remix Mists of Pandaria Leveling Boost that can make your leveling even easier and faster!

What rewards can I get there?

Oh, that's the most interesting part. Unlike other Classic games, the Remix game mode lets you collect dozens of great rewards that will be later useable by your modern WoW characters. That includes very rare drops like Heavenly Onyx Cloud Serpent, Thundering Ruby Cloud Serpent, or Clutch of Ji-Jun. You'll get an opportunity to just purchase them.

Yes, that's right, you'll get a guaranteed source of all those items that excludes randomness. This new remixed Pandaria will be full of collectible items of all sorts, ranging from trivial to very rare or brand new ones. And how are Blizzard going to do it? By introducing a new currency – Bronze.

Before getting into more detail about Bronze, take a look at this brief overview of the rewards you can expect to find in Mists of Pandaria Remix (credit goes to IZEN):

What is Bronze in Remix Mists of Pandaria?

Bronze is the main currency of the game mode that replaces Gold. You'll be able to find Bronze everywhere: by selling junk, by defeating mobs, by completing quests, and so on. Since the Remix game mode doesn't have gear repairing and Auction House, there's little to no use gold could have here. Hence, the introduction of a new currency makes lots of sense.

Each zone of Pandaria in the Remix game mode has an Infinite Bazaar where you can buy all sorts of collectible and consumable items. That's right, the word "gear" is missing there and it is for a reason. You can't buy gear – only get it by defeating mobs or completing quests. However, it's possible to "unravel" the gear you have to get Bronze – just selling it wouldn't be as cool, we suppose.
